Welcome to the ICMAB Annual Report 2024.

You will see that this year was a hugely successful one for the Institute.

We were evaluated by our Strategic Advisory Board, who gave us valuable feedback on our progress and plans. We were rewarded with our third successive Severo Ochoa Excellence Award, for the project Materials Transition for Tomorrow's World. We produced an increased number of scientific publications, grew our activity in knowledge transfer, maintained our activities in training and communication and deepened our commitment to diversity.

The contents of this report show that the ICMAB is an increasingly vibrant, excellent, inclusive, diverse, rigorous, ambitious and exciting place to work, where the very best materials science is performed.

In the selection of information and data, we present some of the most noteworthy research results that were made public, details of the money that makes us run, the people that comprise the centre, what we offer to the public and companies in terms of knowledge and technical capabilities, and what our impact is. We hope that you enjoy some of our favourite news from 2024.
